I’m super excited to share the Little Ghost quilt pattern with you! This pattern is inspired by the book “The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt by Riel Nason. Using just 2 charm packs and a bit of black fabric you can make your very own “little ghost”!

The simple patchwork pattern comes together quickly and you’ll learn the snowball method when piecing the face block sections. The pattern finishes at 36″ x 45″ but can easily be enlarged by adding more blocks.

Pair this quilt with The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt book for an adorable gift for a special child in your life! I can’t wait to snuggle with this quilt and read the book to my daughter.

My Version of Little Ghost

For my version of this quilt, I used the fabric line Blue Jean by Christopher Thompson.

While scrap fabric would be perfect for this project, I found this 5″ Stacker to match the character in the book pretty well!

For the eyes and mouth, I used Bella Solids Black yardage. All you need is a fat eighth, but I shockingly had no black fabric in my stash so I ordered a yard and tucked the extra away for a future project.

The backing fabric is Blue Jean Ditzy Denim yardage.

The binding is Blue Jean Grey Shirting yardage. Typically I bind my quilts with a darker fabric but I thought the lighter color would be a light and airy way to frame my ghost.
