  • Simple Shoo Fly Quilt Pattern (PDF Download)

    Simple Shoo Fly is a beginner-friendly quilt pattern designed to work with 5″ precut squares. The classic Shoo Fly block is offered in two options: Traditional and Inverted, giving you lots of design options. Each size offers 3 different layouts and optional sashing and border instructions.

    This pattern assumes the quilter has basic quilting knowledge. The quilter will need to have basic piecing skills and be able to keep a consistent 1/4″ seam allowance.

    This pattern is designed to use precut 5″ squares of fabric, otherwise known as Charm Packs, 5″ Stackers or Charm Squares. The fabric requirements are shown in the photo gallery.

    Sizes:
    – Baby (36″ x 36″)
    – Baby w/Sashing (44″ x 44″)
    – Lap (36″ x 48″)
    – Lap w/Sashing (44″ x 58″)
    – Small Throw (48″ x 48″)
    – Small Throw w/Sashing (58″ x 58″)
    – Large Throw (60″ x 60″)
    – Large Throw w/Sashing (72″ x 72″)

    This pattern includes:
    – PDF of Simple Shoo Fly
    – a two at a time half square triangle tutorial
    – detailed graphics for easy assembly
